Wow. I knew I had not been keeping up with my goal of posting blog posts once a month, but realizing the last time I updated this blog was exactly a year ago is quite humbling.
I originally came here to review my goals from last year and write my new goals, and already I'm nervous. Here we go!
Nope. I am close to finishing it now, but that's just the first draft. I still have to do edits, and October has come and gone
❌️Start sequel to untitled book.
Obviously not since I haven't finished the first book. But hopefully soon
✅️Post on Facebook once a week
I'm giving myself a pass on this because I have been doing it for the last month.
❌️A blog post once or twice a month.
As I said, this is my first in a year.
✅️Update my author website
Yes! I actually did this one!
✅️Run a marketing campaign for A Thousand Times More Fair a week before March 21, 2025
Did it! Not sure I actually made any money off it, but I did campaign, and did again this month. I'm trying to do that more often.
❌️Do better at following up with beta readers
I didn't have the chance to send anything to beta readers this year, but it's a good reminder for next year
Okay, shake it off. Obviously there's room for improvement but not all is lost or even a complete fail. On to next year's goals!
Finish untitled book and publish May 26 (oooh, I wonder what's significant about that date?)
Follow up with beta readers early
Start sequel
Continue posting once a week
Update writing blog once every other month (please let me know if there's a writing topic you want to hear about!) And update Kid Show blog the other months
Start a newsletter
Start a YouTube channel (this is going to be a big one and probably won't happen until late next year, but I've wanted to do it for a while)
Help other authors with beta reading (I haven't done this in a while. I just haven't had time to read, but I want to do it again, even if it's once a year, maybe while I'm waiting for my own beta readers to get back to me)
These are definitely stretch goals, but attainable if I put my mind to them.
Happy New Year, and good luck to you on your goals!
